Heart Beat

When we are resting, it takes about a minute for all of the blood to pass through the heart. During heavy exercise it happens about every ten seconds.

Heart beats can vary. Infants's heart rate normally is 120bpm. For a marathon runner drifting off to sleep , the heart rate is 60 bpm. However the average adult is 80 bpm. The athletic heart beat during exercise can reach 140bpm while the couch potato at rest can get 100 bpm.

The medulla oblongata controls automatic body function so it also controls the heart beat. Try some jumping jacks or do some meditation to see if we can make it in better shape.
