Osteopathic Talk --Frozen Shoulder

purewellnesscalgar

Adhesive capsulitis, commonly referred to as frozen shoulder, leads to stiffness and discomfort in the shoulder joint. Symptoms typically begin slowly and then intensify. Prolonged immobility of the shoulder increases the likelihood of developing frozen shoulder, often following surgery or an arm fracture. It is rare for frozen shoulder to reappear in the same shoulder. However, some individuals may experience it in the opposite shoulder, generally within five years.

Causes

The shoulder joint is surrounded by a connective tissue capsule. Frozen shoulder happens when this capsule becomes thicker and tightens around the shoulder joint, limiting its movement.

At our clinic, we have successfully treated numerous cases using the Barral Osteopathic method. Typically, it requires 5-6 sessions to restore the shoulder joint to its normal range of motion. Today, a client on her first visit told us: My shoulder feels much better. I'm about to cry because it's been so long since I've experienced this kind of shoulder pain relief.
